Summary:
Juaristi, son of Basque immigrants who fled Franco's Spain in 1948, grew up to become a sheepherder in Elko, Nevada. When his aunt was put in a nursing home for Alzheimer's, he returned with his father Joe to visit her and others in the Old Country, where places have both Spanish and Basque names. This short memoir grows out of that journey, and recounts both of their early lives as well as the new experiences they gain abroad together. Vince provides many of the translations himself, and by his account the return is a quintessential American story of immigrants searching for their origins. There is no index.
