Published in conjunction with a 2011-2012 exhibition at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena California, this volume offers a detailed look at the Los Angeles art world, printmaking in particular, from 1900 through 1960, and from 1960 through now. The essays examine the scene, including the workshops--the Tamarind Lithography Workshop led by June Wayne, Gemini G.E.L., and Cirrus Editions--and artists: locals such as Richard Diebenkorn, Ed Moses, and Ed Ruscha, and artists who traveled to LA to make prints, including Joseph Albers, Louise Nevelson, Claes Oldenburg, and Robert Rauschenberg.
