Summary:
A scholar of law and the classics who has served the Church of England in Wales and Oxford, where he is now based, Jones offers a dictionary of terms and concepts used in canon law in the two churches. For the many terms that are used in both, he considers the Catholic and Anglican meanings and uses separately. Some of the entries are archbishop, cathedral, easement, jurisdiction, precedent, and visitation. The Latin or Greek origin of the term is provided, and the English meaning of Latin words or phrases. There is no index, but the cross-references are abundant. No date is cited for the first edition. T&T Clark is an imprint of Continuum. Annotation ©2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
