The text is clearly and concisely written and supported by numerous photographs and illustrations. Editors Anderson (anthropology, U. of California, Riverside), Pearsall (anthropology, U. of Missouri, Columbia), Hunn (anthropology, U. of Washington), Turner (anthropology, environmental studies, U. of Victoria, Canada), and 37 co-authors contributed to the book.
