Summary:
Zadrapa (African and Asian languages, Charles U., Prague) presents his 2009 doctoral dissertation at Charles University on how object words can be used to denote a process in Classical Chinese; the use of object words as adverbs is rare and simple, he says, so he can include it as a supplement to the noun-vowel promiscuity. He had hoped to avoid the large and stubborn problem of word classes, but it was in every direction he turned. He covers the historical background, modern approaches, early Chinese morphology and HY, word classes and the Classical Chinese noun, object words denoting processes, and object words as modifiers of action words.
