- Summary:
- Hard Core Logo, a 1993 novel by Michael Turner, was made into a fictional rockumentary film by Bruce McDonald. The Canadian cult film deals with themes such as friendship, the nature of artistic integrity, and the responsibility of a filmmaker to his subjects. This book examines various versions spinning off from the original book and film, such as a screenwriter's diary, a tribute album, a comic book, a stage play, academic articles, and online fan fiction and remix videos. The book also discusses other aspects, such as homoerotic themes and arguments against such interpretations. The bibliography lists published Hard Core Logo material, plus books on Bruce McDonald, Canadian cinema, mockumentaries, road movies, and fan communities and remix culture.
