Summary:

Program of dances preceded by an introduction to Tantric Buddhism in Nepal and a description of Charya nritya, a religious practice through which a dancer is spiritually transformed into a deity, allowing beholders a vision of divine beauty. The 14 dances represent different Tantric Buddhist deities, whose identities and functions are described in brief introductions that include depictions in painting and/or sculpture. The dances are performed by both women and men, sometimes in masks.
