Summary:
This collection of twelve archaeological monographs examines the concept of regionality in prehistorical cultures of the British Isles, exploring site and artifact interpretation that has perhaps been skewed by anachronistic influence of current political and academic classifications in previous studies. Topics discussed include homogeneity and differences in standing stone sites, recognizing regionality in Scottish prehistory, placing Beakers in their Irish context and regionality in the Neolithic Irish Sea zone. Individual papers include illustrations, photographs, tables and site maps. Contributors are Scottish, Irish and English archeology academics and researchers.
