- Textbook of Latin grammar by the noted classicist, Lucio Giovanni Scoppa of Naples (i.e. "Parthenope"), containing the usual extended chapters on the parts of a sentence, declensions, and verb forms, as well an "epitome" at the end, a concise presentation of grammar explanations, and rules for scansion, the metrical analysis of verse. First printed by Paganini at Venice in 1508, this ed. reprints Scoppa's original dedication to his fellow Neapolitan Giovanni Battista Petrucio, archbishop of Taranto, together with Petrucio's reply.
