- Summary:
- The difference between good or bad urban development concerns whether or not people will want to live or go there. The contributors to this volume come from education, public, and private sectors to discuss public policy, master planning and infrastructure and offers examples and case studies to influence future urban design. The editors, Tiesdell (urban studies, U. of Glasgow) and Adams (property and urban studies, U. of Glasgow) explain the structure of urban design, real estate development and policies that shape the decision processes of developers in a broad market. The differences in European design to North American design are discussed with the main focus being on how excellence can be achieved in cities generally.
