- Summary:
- Between the early 1990s--and the embarrassingly unprofessional work of British forensic psychologist Paul Britton in the investigation into the murder of a young woman--and the present time, there has been substantial improvement in criminal profiling practices in the UK, with greater regulation, greater professionalism and integrity, and far less personality-based media attention, according to Alison (a chartered forensic psychologist at Liverpool U., UK) and Rainbow (Head of Profession for Behavioural Investigative Advice, National Policing Improvement Agency, UK), even as the practice has come under increasing criticism. They present 12 papers that describes this professionalization of "behavioral investigative advising" in terms of various aspects of both process and product.
