Summary:

The nine papers in this collection originally were presented during the workshop, Researching Violence and Conflict: Methodological and Ethical Considerations, held in July 2008 at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. The papers address a variety of topics, including methods and ethics in conflict, researching children and violence in evolving socio-political contexts, researching civil war in Sudan, gender and sexuality, and cooperative ethics as a new model for cultural research on peace and security. All entries are both readable and well-researched.
