Summary:
This analysis of the resistance against the Holocaust raises the question as to why, in view of the atrocity of the crimes, there was so little protest in Germany. The leaflets of the courageous Munich students and the failed conspiracy to assassinate Hitler were rare exceptions. But widespread, open resistance occurred only once. In February, 1943, when the last Berlin Jews were being deported, their non-Jewish relatives protested and forced the release of 1,500 men and women of mixed marriages.
