- Summary:
- Film footage of the liberated concentration camp Bergen-Belsen in April, 1945 exceeded the bounds of the imagination-piles of corpses as high as a man lined the paths of the camp and the few emaciated survivors, in rags, gazed with haunted eyes at their liberators. When the Allies reached the camps, they were aghast at the extent of the barbarism. They were able to rescue no more than 50,000 Jews from the camps, while some six million perished. Holocaust survivors and camp personnel are interviewed.
