- Summary:
- This archaeological treatise on the excavation of six sites slated for gravel excavation in the London borough of Havering, provides detailed analysis of research conducted in the area from 1963 to 1997. Uncovering evidence of settlement from the Mesolithic era (9600-4100 BCE) through the Medieval period (15th century CE) and even residual items dating to 36,000 BCE , the volume documents in detail a rich collection of artifacts and sites. The text includes numerous site maps, diagrams, illustrations and photographs. The volume has a large collection of co-authors and contributors and the research was performed under the auspices of several universities and historical preservation organizations.
