- Summary:
- In this volume Randall (PhD, Rutgers U.) has transcribed English military news pamphlets for the period 1513-1637 in order to provide a source book for military historians on the conduct of military campaigns and different aspects of military life in Renaissance Europe, as well as a source book for print culture historians on the basic form and different facets of the genre. He has provided letter-by-letter reproductions (correcting obvious typographical errors however) of pamphlets that were selected so as to demonstrate the genre's range, with notes for obscure words and phrases and light annotation for persons, events, and references in the pamphlets.
