- Summary:
- Miscellany of legal, notarial, and financial documents, mostly original, but occasionally copies (especially the older 14th-century documents), dealing with the affairs of numerous members of the Medici family. Most of the legal and notarial documents are wills (of Silvestro de' Medici, also referred to as Salvestro, of Carlo de' Medici, and many others), dowries (of Elisabetta Ronconi), marriage contracts (for example between Andrea de' Medici and Lucrezia Guadagni), or disputes concerning the terms of such contracts. Among the financial documents, most of which are credit and debit records for small transactions, noteworthy are papers concerning a large loan paid to the king of France Henry II from Cosimo I de' Medici (f. 367r), and a donation to the Monastery of Santa Caterina, Florence (f. 264r). A small but detailed genealogy of the Medici family is also present (f.184r).
- Notes:
- These documents have been disbound from a heavy paper cover with the pages of the documents numbered consecutively throughout the volume. The cover is stored with the documents.
