Penn Libraries copy is no. 5 in a volume of 15 mid-sixteenth century German pamphlets concerned with the conflict between Braunschweig and Heinrich der Jüngere, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel.
Penn Libraries copy bound in full blind-toooled leather over beveled-edge wooden boards; upper board has central rectangular portrait of Martin Luther (with caption: V.D.M.I.Æ. D. MART. LVTHER); lower board has central rectangular portrait of a male figure flanked by the letters "C" and "W" (with caption: SI DEVS PRO NOBIS QVIS CONTRA NOS); 3 raised bands on spine; paper label with ms. number ("44") at head of spine; remains of 2 leather and metal clasps on lower board; 2 metal catchplates on upper board.
Penn Libraries copy has early ms. shelf-marks(?) in brown ink on front pastedown and front free endpaper (recto and verso); modern ms. bibliographical notes in pencil on front and back pastedowns; ms. numeral ("41") in pale brown ink at foot of title leaf; modern ms. bibliographical note in pencil at foot of title leaf.
