- Summary:
- This report examines climate change and implications for a range of alternative future scenarios. The outcomes of different stabilization targets for greenhouse gas concentrations are quantified using analyses and information drawn from the scientific literature, and relationships among emissions, greenhouse gases, temperatures, and impacts are analyzed. Predictions for physical climate change are given for the next few decades, in the coming centuries, and beyond the next few centuries. The report concludes that the world is entering a new geological epoch in which human activities will control the evolution of Earth's environment. The book includes color maps and charts on almost every page. Annotation ©2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
