- Notes:
- "[A] fragment consisting of two leaves [i.e. 1 sheet comprising 8 leaves, divided into 2 pieces] from the Ars minor of Donatus. The text, though mutilated, represents the complete third signature, (c), of five. The large number of errors suggests that this fragment was part of a trial run, never issued at least in its present form, but discarded as waste paper ... trimmed and used as end papers in a binding ... [T]he text was printed in the early XVIth century by one of three Nürnberg printers who used this particular large Gothic type, namely Hieronymus Höltzel (1500-1525), Ambrosius Huber (1498-1502) or Johann Weissenburger (1501-1513)"--R. Hirsch, "A misprinted early XVI-century Donatus," Gutenberg-Jahrbuch 1979, p. 136.
- Chancery(?) octavo. 17 lines to a full page; area of text: ca. 115 x 70 mm. Printed 2-line initials. Without signatures, foliation or catchwords. Text of leaves [c]7v and [c]8r wrongly imposed in each other's places.
- Each piece trimmed to ca. 215 x 155 mm. with 4 matching stab holes (1 each at center of 155 mm. edges and 2 along one of the 215 mm. edges); each piece has vertical and horizontal yellow (probably glue) stains on one side. Piece containing f. [c]1r (text begins: Participium quid est) mutilated at one corner with some loss of text. Piece containing f. [c]7r (text begins: Sub ablatiui) has modern ms. numeral ("87") within a circle in pencil on stained side.
- Pieces housed in a folder 34 cm. in height with an offprint of "A misprinted early XVI-century Donatus" (Gutenberg-Jahrbuch 1979, p. 136-139) by Rudolf Hirsch (inscribed and initialed by him on front cover) and a photocopy of a ms.-corrected typescript of the article.
