- In a series of interviews with young Israelis of Ethiopian origin, we learn how the wide variety of original Amharic names, nicknames, family names, and patronymics (as well as their arbritrarily assigned names in Hebrew) are the jumping-off point for thoughtful discussions on assimilation and the immigrant experience in Israel.
