- Penn Libraries copy imperfect: head margin and top few lines excised, with one line of damaged text visible ("[ka]rten / dann wer mit jm studiren wil der heylige[n schr]ifft thut er warten."), followed by stanza which begins: "Der Luther hats nit woll besonne[n] ..." Sheet closely cropped at left-hand margin; second line of first intact stanza damaged. Lightly wormed.

- A similar version of this song was printed as "Diss ist ein Newes liedlein Evangelische lere betreffend. Vnd ist jns weissbecken thon" (ca. 1523; cf. VD 16 D1449) and "Eyn Newes lied die Ewangelische lere betreffende. Vnd wirdt gesungen inss weyssbecken thon" (Speyer: Jakob Schmidt, 1524; cf. VD 16 ZV4519). In this version, the first stanza begins: "Es get ein frischer Sommer doher ..."; the penultimate stanza begins: "O gott, wir begern von dir huld ..."; and the final stanza begins: "Verleih uns gnad, ewiger gott ..." Cf. F. Böhme, Altdeutsches Liederbuch (Leipzig: Breitkopf und Gärtel, 1877), p. 478ff. Not to be identified with the version attributed to Konrad Kern and printed as "Ain hübsch euangelisch lied dar in auffs kürtzest angezaygt ist was gott am maisten miszfeldt vnnd gefelt kürtzlich corrigiert ..." (Augsburg, 1524; cf. VD 16 K769 and O.L.B. Wolff, Sammlung historischer Volkslieder und Gedichte der Deutschen (Stuttgart: Cotta, 1830), p. 64ff.)
