Large woodcut on title leaf depicting a scholar wearing spectacles and holding a fly-swatter, attributed to Heinrich Vogtherr. Cf. Folger. After a satirical illustration of a bibliophile by Albrecht Dürer from an incunable edition of Sebastian Brant's Narrenschiff (Basel: Johann Bergmann, de Olpe, 11 Feb. 1494; ISTC ib01080000). In Dürer's illustration, the bibliophile is holding a feather-duster.
