At foot is a receipt to be completed in MS.
The sale of the two large plates is "for the benefit of the widow of the person that first discovered this curious pavement, and drew the original from whence these plates are to be engraved". The widow = Mary George.
Samuel Lewis's 'A topographical dictionary of England', 1835: "An accurate drawing was made ... by Mr. William George, ... and his widow worked a beautiful carpet, on a reduced scale, from which it was finally engraved, at the expense of the Antiquarian Society".
