Calculated in the first place to the meridian of Edinburgh, whose latitude is 55 degrees, 56 minutes north; with a table, and directions to fit it to other places in Scotland. By John Chapman, who calculated the Edinburgh almanack for the eight preceeding years. Altho' the sun and moon be no less than six times eclipsed this year so some parts of the earth, yet none of these eclipses will be visible to us. The sun will be eclipsed on March 23d, visible at Jamaica; and the moon will be twice totally eclipsed, visible in America, on April the 7th, and October the first. The sun will be twice eclipsed to those on the coast of Guiney, on April the 22d, and September the 16th. And lastly, he will be eclipsed on October the 16th, visible in China.
