With the prefaces of Frederick II, Marmontel (including the original dedication in English signed: Voltaire) and Linant, and 'Variantes recueillies par l'abbé, Lenglet'; vol.2 contains 'Histoire abrégée, des événements sur lesquels est fondée .. la Henriade, 'Dissertation sur la mort de Henri IV.,' 'Essai sur la poésie épique', 'Discours en vers sur l'homme', 'Le temple du gout', 'Le poëme de Fontenoi' and 'Poëme sur le désastre de Lisbonne'.

Vol.1 has an undated engraved titlepage, and contains engravings from designs of Eisen with an acknowledgement from Voltaire) to Eisen dated 1767.

Vol.2 contains no engravings and has a titlepage dated 1770.
