Copy made by Gertrude Frenzel-Koehler, in a calligraphic hand, of 2 poems by Goethe: Metamorphose der Pflanzen; and Metamorphose der Tiere. The initial of the first stanza of each poem is embellished with tendril-like swirls in gold, red and blue ink; and initials of sections of the poems are in blue, red, or gold. The main bodies of the poems are in black ink; the title of the first poem is in blue and that of the second is in gold. The manuscript comprises a paginated gathering of 2 folio-size bifolia, with a title page in blue, red, and gold.
