- Summary:
- "Object cathexis in an infant refers to the infant's investment of psychic energy or interest in things and persons as well as the infant's own body. Three closely inter-related factors are involved: the quality, the quantity and the stability of the investment of energy. ... Seven mother-infant pairs, illustrating seven types of mother-infant interaction during infant feeding, are first shown at the age of six weeks. Each of the seven pairs is then shown at both six months and one year."--Opening frames.
