- Gift Book Collection copy 2 has a ms. inscription, in pencil, which reads "Angelina Palethrop, by her husband", dated February 27(?), 1845, on the presentation leaf. These are probably John H. and Angelina Palethrop of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Cf. Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision of January 29, 1900, "Palethorp v. Palethorp", published in Pennsylvania state reports, vol. 194, Banks Law Publishing Co., 1900).
