Each volume has armorial bookplate of Robert Handcock on front pastedown, autograph of Sarah Handcock (dated 1737) on title leaf, and stamp with initials "RH" on title leaf; some ms. underlines in pencil and a few in ink; occasional ms. notes. Volume 1 has a few pencil sketches on back free endpapers and back pastedown; pencil tests on verso of leaf preceding title leaf; bookseller's description of set laid in.
