- Summary:
- This annual survey, fielded June to October 2007, was conducted in over 60 countries to solicit public opinion on social and political issues. Respondents were asked whether their country was governed by the will of the people, whether its elections were free and fair, and whether democracy was the best system of government. The survey also asked for the respondents' attitudes about their society and their personal political leaning. Additional questions addressed respondents' actions taken to protect the environment, and whether the global influence of several major powers should increase, decrease, or remain the same. Demographic information includes sex, age, income, education level, employment status, and religious affiliation.
