- Summary:
- This special topic poll sought respondents' views on the 1996 presidential election. Respondents were asked for their opinions on how well President Bill Clinton and the United States Congress were handling their respective jobs. Given a myriad of presidential election pairings, those queried were also asked to identify for whom they would vote. Choices included Democratic candidate Bill Clinton versus Republican hopefuls Bob Dole, Steve Forbes, Pat Buchanan, and Ross Perot. The 1996 congressional elections were also addressed. Background variables include age, race, sex, education, family income, religion, political party, political orientation, and voter registration status.
