Respondents were queried on whether they had recently bought a car, computer, VCR, compact disc player, or major appliances. They were also asked if they had made major renovations/repairs on their home or had gone on a vacation, and the costs of that vacation. Other questions covered the respondents' investment and retirement plans as well as employment status. Background information on respondents includes voter registration status, household composition, vote choice in the 1992 presidential election, political party, political orientation, education, age, sex, race, religious preference, and family income.
