Summary:
This poll is part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicit public opinion on the presidency and on a range of other political and social issues. Respondents were asked to give their opinions of President Bill Clinton and his handling of the presidency. Those queried were also asked for their views on the crash of TWA Flight #800, the National Transportation Safety Board, commercial airline travel safety, and government regulation of airline travel. Comparative questions were asked about the safety of air travel versus other modes of transportation, and the safety of United States airports versus foreign airports. Terrorism and safety at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta were addressed as well. Background information on respondents includes age of children in household, political party, political orientation, education, age, race, sex, and family income.
