Summary:
This data collection contains a record of elective office holding experience of 127 nations in the United Nations General Assembly, as well as their occupancy of non-permanent, elective seats on the Security, Economic and Social, and Trusteeship Councils, in the period 1946-1971. For each of the first 26 sessions of the General Assembly, data are provided for country name, type of seat held by each national representative for the regular sessions, committee sessions, and the Trusteeship Council sessions, the number of committee chairpersons, rapporteurs, and vice-chairpersons from each nation, and the beginning and ending dates of the 26 sessions. The council membership variables were coded for periods comparable to the General Assembly sessions.
