- Considers. S. 2269 and similar H.R. 4451, to amend the Fisherman's Protective Act to broaden provisions protecting U.S. fishing vessels and their owners from unlawful seizure by foreign fishermen. S. 1260, to amend the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Act to implement U.S. ratification of the International Convention for the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries protocol bringing harp seals under the protection of the Convention. S. 2047, to exempt certain fishing and cannery tender vessels from the requirements of the fishing laws. S. 2232, to amend prohibitions on foreign fishing in U.S. waters, requiring forfeiture of any vessel violating the prohibition for a second time. S. 1798, to amend the Fish and Wildlife Act to authorize loans to fishermen's cooperative associations. S. 1784, to amend the Anadromous Fish Conservation Act to permit Idaho to participate in the programs provided by the Act. S. 1752, to amend the Act of May 20, 1964 to make it unlawful for a foreign fishing vessel in U.S. waters to engage in support of a foreign fishing fleet. S.J. Res. 103 and similar S.J. Res. 75, to authorize the Interior Dept to conduct a survey of the coastal and fresh-water commercial fishery resources of the U.S. and its territories and possessions.
