Curran bound in full calf with gold-tooled boards; 5 raised, gold-tooled bands on spine; gold-tooled spine panels; title, author's last name, and date ("1817") stamped in gold on spine; gold-tooled cover edges and turn-ins; marbled endpapers and edges; brown silk marker. Copy has boards detached and armorial bookplate of John Tindale on front pastedown. Milton Collection copy 2 presented to the Penn Libraries in 2014 by Joseph A.Wittreich in honor of Stuart A. Curran bound with: Milton, John. Paradise regained, Samson Agonistes, Comus, and Arcades. London : John Sharpe, 1817. Milton Collection copy 3: Presented to the Penn Libraries by Joseph A. Wittreich in honor of Stuart A. Curran, 2018 has full calf gold-tooled boards. Spine decorated with elaborate gold-tooled decorations between "Milton," and "Minor Poems" which are stamped in blind with "Vol. IV" printed on red background at bottom; marbled endpapers with top of spine partially detached from text. Front free endpaper inscribed "A Birthday present to A. E. Barrett from M.S.". Each engraved half-title page has tissue guard.
