PR3551.G3 1870z Milton Collection copy 2 presented to the Penn Libraries by Joseph A. Wittreich in honor of Stuart A. Curran, 2021 has red cloth bevelled boards with front cover elaborately decorated in embossed black and gilt trim with decorative gilt scrolls incorporating the title in black lettering above and below a central recessed panel containing a varnished paper floral cutout. Each corner has small round gilt medallions with the lower ones of William Shakespeare and Robert Burns and the upper two containing impressions of Westminster Cathedral (above Shakespeare) and a Scottish castle (above Burns). Spine is similarly decorated with Milton lettered in embossed black within gilt background and with The Landscape Series of Poets at the center in red within a gilt background; decorative trim at top and bottom incorporating Gall & Inglis in gilt on either side of a gilt harp at bottom with a small pastoral scene at top. Back cover is decorated in embossed blind with central embossed harp. All edges stained gilt. Copy 2 has publisher's advertisements wanting.
