2nd environmental performance review : Kazakhstan
Place of Publication:
New York : United Nations, 2008.
Summary:
Committee members and accompanying specialists visited the Central Asian country in September 2007 and the peer review was held in Geneva in April 2008, which is the cut-off date for information. The goal was to measure the progress made by the government in managing its environment since the first review in 2000. The findings were disappointing: only half of one percent of the budget is allocated to environmental spending, which the review says is not nearly enough to deal with the environmental challenges.
