Nicolò Antonio Giustiniani (b. June 21, 1712; d. Nov. 24, 1796) was appointed Bishop of Verona in 1759 and then Bishop of Padua on Dec. 14, 1772.
Summary:
Collection of 17 pastoral letters and documents issued by Nicolò Antonio Giustiniani after his consecration to the episcopate in 1753 and during his tenure as bishop of Verona. The individual documents are arranged chronologically (with one exception); most are broadsides printed in Verona by Agostino Carattoni or his heirs. The Latin text of the "Jubilaeum Universale" of Clement XIV (dated 12 December 1769) is followed by a text in Italian signed "N.A. Vescovo di Verona" and dated 22 February 1770. A few documents have engraved vignettes of Giustiniani's episcopal arms; most have woodcut vignettes of the episcopal arms and woodcut initials. A few of the broadsides have ms. inscriptions on their versos. All are bound together (most folded) in a vol. measuring 33 cm. in height.
