- Summary:
- The story of Yehuda Grovais, a young Israeli Ultra-Orthodox Jew, who left a career as an insurance salesman to become a professional film director, all while still maintaining his religious beliefs and practices as a faithful member of the Haredi community. At one point declaring that prior to his work the most accepted entertainment among Haredi were puppet shows, Grovais demonstrates both the possibilities and difficulties of reconciling a modern profession in media with Ultra-Orthodox practice, especially problematic when the culture does not allow VCR's, televisions, or theater attendance. Declared the "Steven Spielberg" of the Haredi cinema industry in one news clip, the film follows, interviews, and probes Grovais and others about his life, depicting both the positive aspects of his work and the occasionally very negative reactions of his detractors.
