Summary:
Prior to moving to Israel in 1992, Moshe (MILAH-The Jerusalem Institute of Education) was a psychiatrist in the U.S. In the guise of 16 letters addressed to Friederich Nietzche, the author discusses parallels between his ideas and traditional Jewish thought. For example, he informs the philosopher who wrote in The Birth of Tragedy (1872) about the need to affirm life--even a life full of suffering --that this is a quintessentially Jewish approach to life behind the "secret" of his people's endurance. Among Moshe's other books is Heroes, Antiheroes and the Holocaust. Annotation ©2008 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
