La primera edición empezó a publicarse en 1667, pero sólo apareció el tomo primero y aún incompleto.--Palau y Dulcet, Manuel del librero hispano-americano. According to Silva, Dict. bibl. portugues, "Segunda edicion" refers to the author's "Epitome de las historias portuguesas, que elle accrescentou, ampliou e alterou."
