Summary:
Stirlitz is among Hitler's top group of advisors, but he is actually a Soviet spy living in Germany before and during World War II. However, some of his German colleagues are beginning to suspect the truth about him. Stirlitz works to prevent the Germans from making a separate peace with the West in the last spring of the war, in 1945, while he must maintain his two identities and remain undiscovered.
