Summary:
This book provides a comprehensive reference for new entrants in the municipal bond industry, as well as an informative guide to the newer products for the existing audience. These days, the new players in the industry include foreign banks and hedge funds. Just in the last year, these two groups of institutional investors have dominated the market with their buying power. Municipal bonds are getting more popular these days because they offer the traditional buyers tax exemption. For cross-over traders, they view the asset class as a commodity-type product that is highly liquid that they can get in and out of when the yield ratios-to-taxables shift one way or the other. Editors Frank Fabozzi and Sylvan Feldstein provide traders, bankers, and advisors, among other industry participants, with the most complete handbook, even covering newer swap and derivative products that other books in this market don' t.
