Notes:
By James Cheetham, author of A narrative of the suppression by Col. Burr of The history of the administration of John Adams, late president of the United States, written by John Wood, 1802.
Two editions, not distinguished by the printer or in Shaw & Shoemaker, noted, with the type reset in gatherings [A]-D. In this edition the line "Aaron Burr, Esq." on the title page is shorter than the line "political conduct." Suggesting that this is the later edition, the second sentence of the third paragraph on p. 10 reads: Mr. Burr's opposition in the Legislature, to the petition, was the first part of his political conduct which excited public attention.
Parentheses substituted for square brackets in imprint transcription.
