One of two editions printed by Samuel Wood in 1813; and presumably the earlier. In this edition there are no printers' ornaments separating the segments of the title page, p. [3] is formatted in stanzas, the caption (The burning of John Rogers) on p. 13 is printed entirely in upper case letters, and the publisher's statement which appears regularly on the verso of the title page in later editions is not included. The two editions are not distinguished by Shaw & Shoemaker, entry 27852.
