Dated [1807] by Barbara Gilmore in A Puritan town and its imprints, 1942, entry 168; [1805-1815] by Heartman. However, from 1803-1808 Simeon Butler was in business with his brother Elihu as S. & E. Butler. Simeon Butler worked alone from 1794-1802 and from 1809-1810. The present edition employs the long s; an edition printed by T.M. Pomeroy for S. & E. Butler in 1806 does not.
