The Biography of the signers to the Declaration of Independence was first published in Philadelphia by R.W. Pomeroy, 1820-1827, in nine volumes. The first two volumes were edited by John Sanderson, suggesting that these proposals, which have Paul Allen as editor, were issued earlier than proposals dated Nov. 15, 1819 (Shaw & Shoemaker 49356), that have John Sanderson as editor.
