Notes:
This is a later edition of the address and resolutions adopted by a Republican convention held at Dedham, Aug. 17, 1812, interspersed with critical comments by the editor, who states, "we have undertaken to examine some passages of it, and to shew from authentic documents, and an appeal to the understanding and experience of the citizens, that the doctrines therein contained are not only unsound but of fatal tendency--and that the address is rather to the passions and predjudices, than to the reason of the people."
Title from caption and first lines of text.
A typographically similar eight-page edition, without the critical comments, was printed by Herman Mann, at Dedham, Mass. Shaw & Shoemaker 25246 does not clearly distinguish the two.
